I made small things like this. Who knows if they're still there. Probably not, because things tend to die on me.



This is a photograph of the stained glass inside where dead bodies are locked up.


I made a dinosaur's head out of some leaves.


Amongst all of the above, I made a chain of leaves and sticks sticking out of a water spicket. I bet it's fallen down and the leaves eroded by now.

Another bound-to-be-dead thing.

wandering through buildings I'm not familiar with

hello Friends-

Out assignment was to go to studios/classrooms for majors that we're considering. Today I went to a few different studios on the VCU campus. To be precise, those were the Graphic Design studio on W Main St, the sculpture studio in the Fine Arts Building, and the woodworking studio also in the Fine Arts building.

First stop was Graphic Design- 1509 W Main Street.

Unfortunately, this building was locked and my VCU ID wasn't opening the door. Here's a picture I took from outside.

Alright, you caught me. I took these pictures with my 3 (THREE) megapixel cameraphone. I do have a DSLR camera, however I'm loaning it to a friend who's in the graphic design program because he needed it for an assignment.

I'm pretty sure that Graphic Design is what I want to major in. I've worked at a GD studio in Waynesboro for the last year (Mountain Laurel Studio), and I really enjoyed the work I did there. From outside, it looked like the work that was up in the studio had a lot to do with geometric shapes, which is cool.

Next I went to the Fine Arts building on West Broad St. I first went to the sculpture studio, because I've been thinking more and more of sculpture as a major. I was surprised, because I was expecting to see a bunch of vases and pots, but instead I saw a lot of really neat installation... and they weren't vases.

Lastly, I went to the Woodworking studio.

Inside were pieces of furniture. Some looked modern and some looked vintage; the variety in pieces made me feel more inclined to go this route. However, I'm not sure that I would be happy making furniture for the rest of my life.. Here are some pictures.
